The 36 contestants of Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2012 continue their activities as they approach the grand finale to be held on April 17th.

The winner will represent the caribbean island in the Miss Universe 2012 pageant to be held in December.

Jenny Claribel Blanco as Miss World Dominican Republic 2012

Jenny Claribel Blanco, 27, 1.62-m-tall, was designated as Miss World Dominican Republic 2012, and will represent her country in Miss World 2012, on August 18, in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China.

Because of Miss World’s date shift, the pageant organizers decided to pick a winner from a casting call to represent the Dominican Republic in Miss World 2012, and will have the actual Miss World Dominican Republic pageant happening in the month of September, with the winner competing in Miss World 2013.

Jenny participated in the Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2009 representing Valverde, and was a top 12-semi-finalist.

She was crowned during her country’s Fashion Week, in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros.
